Adele Goldberg

Nata a Cleveland il 22 luglio 1945, dopo le lauree in Matematica e Scienze dell'Informazione, ha lavorato per la Stanford University e per il Centro di ricerca Xerox di Palo Alto. 

Sviluppò con Alan Kay il linguaggio di programmazione Smalltalk di cui Steve Jobs aveva richiesto una dimostrazione che lei non voleva anticipargli. Obbligata dai suoi superiori, pare che la Goldberg abbia obbedito. Infine Apple utilizzò molte delle idee del team di Goldberg e le sue implementazioni come base per l'ambiente desktop Macintosh.

Co-fondatrice della Neometron Inc., ha continuato a insegnare e a ripetere: << Non chiederti se puoi fare qualcosa, ma come farla>>.

Born in Cleveland on July 22, 1945, after graduating in Mathematics and Information Sciences, she worked for Stanford University and the Xerox Research Center in Palo Alto.

She developed with Alan Kay the Smalltalk programming language and, according to her, Steve Jobs had requested a demonstration of the System which she refused to do. However, it seems that she was compelled to change her mind by her superiors. Apple eventually used many of Goldberg's team's ideas and implementations as the basis for the Macintosh desktop environment.

Adele co-founded Neometron Inc., continuing to teach and repeat: << Ask not if you can do something, but how to do it >>.
