Mary Kenneth Keller

Mary Kenneth Keller (Cleveland, 1913-1985) divenne Suor Mary nel 1940 dopo otto anni nell’ordine Suore della Carità. 

In seguito conseguì una laurea in Matematica e un’altra in Matematica e Fisica ottenendo nel 1965 un Ph.D. in Informatica.

Fondò il Computer Science Department, di cui fu presidente per 20 anni e dove ideò un master per le applicazioni dell’informatica all’insegnamento perché, come affermò: “… è ovvio che le informazioni non sono di alcuna utilità se non sono accessibili”.

Mary Kenneth Keller (Cleveland, 1913-1985) became Sister Mary in 1940 after eight years in the Sisters of Charity order.

She later completed a Bachelor in Mathematics and a Master in Mathematics and Physics, obtaining a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1965 (the first person in the US).

She founded the Computer Science Department, of which she was president for 20 years and where she created a Master's degree for the applications of information technology (computers) to teaching because, as she stated: "... it is obvious that information is of no use if it isn't accessible."
