Margaret Hamilton

Nata nell’Indiana nel 1936, ha diretto una Divisione del MIT che sviluppò il software di bordo per il programma spaziale Apollo 11 risolvendo le complicazioni relative allo sbarco dell’Apollo 11 sulla Luna e garantendo il successo della missione.

Cinquant’anni dopo è diventata imprenditrice fondando la Hamilton Technologies per sviluppare il cosiddetto Universal Systems Language (USL) basato sul paradigma di Development Before the Fact (DBTF) per la progettazione di sistemi e software. 

Ha lavorato a 60 progetti ed è stata coinvolta in sei grandi programmi.

Born in Indiana in 1936, Margaret Hamilton directed the Software Engineering Division at MIT, which developed the onboard flight software for NASA’s Apollo space program. Her team played a critical role in resolving complications during the Apollo 11 Moon landing, contributing significantly to the mission's success.

Fifty years later, she became an entrepreneur by founding Hamilton Technologies, Inc., which focuses on developing the Universal Systems Language (USL), based on the Development Before the Fact (DBTF) paradigm for system and software design.

Over her career, she has worked on over 60 projects and has been involved in six major programs.
